Job Summary/Basic Function:
Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a creative, community-focused individual who is interested in helping the TC Experience Team to build meaningful engagement opportunities with alumni, donors, students and faculty, government officials, and the wider community that will motivate these individuals and groups to support the fundraising priorities of the College.

Reporting to the Director of Government Relations & Community Engagement, the Community Engagement Officer/Manager will provide day-to-day support for both the Government Relations Director and the Associate Director of Engagement & Experience. The ideal candidate is a resourceful individual with superior interpersonal, written, organizational, and relationship-building skills, who is a self-starter, is detail oriented, and who is able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years’ experience in Alumni & Donor Relations, Advancement, or Government & Community engagement
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and Google Drive.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple and varied projects simultaneously
  • Excellent writing skills; a cover letter is a must.
  • Ability to work on-campus as needed – prefer at least 3 days per week.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills;
  • Punctuality and responsiveness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite or other computer software is desired.
  • Experience working in Raiser’s Edge and or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Salary Range:

70,000-80,000

Hybrid/Remote

Teachers College maintains a hybrid work environment, which provides employees with flexible work arrangements, while ensuring we preserve the important aspects of our unique in-person college-campus culture. Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite or in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and virtual days). Employees are expected to live within a 150-mile radius of the College.
