This position is a great introduction to the world of MICE as well as travel management in general, while staying connected to Japan. The position is considered entry level and applicant can expect a salary range of appx $18.50/hr (with some wiggle room depending on the candidate\’s experience). No Japanese language experience necessary (though of course some understanding is helpful).

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for arranging all MICE (including leisure Group) operations and RFP preparation, working with the sales manager/representative to promote our services and increase sales, performing data analysis, and engaging in quality assurance as well as customer service activities.

The ideal candidate will fully understand both the company and departmental goals and assist the manager in achieving them. Responsibilities also include destination research, developing ideas to increase business, and creating promotional ideas to expose our product and services to clients. It also requires selling TCC preferred carriers and other preferred vendors.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct overall group operations including proposal preparation, manifest creation, cost management, and air and land arrangements.
  • Conduct thorough financial management for MICE operations to maximize revenue.
  • Arrangement of airline reservations, hotels, and other travel related arrangements for MICE customers.
  • Look for every opportunity to sell TCC preferred carriers, hotel and other preferred vendors to maximize commission revenue.
  • Serve as tour escort as needed.
  • Plan and conduct site inspections for potential venues for MICE business.
  • Assist Sales Manager with sales activities and operations.
  • Effectively utilize marketing resources such as Cvent, RegOnline.
  • Effectively utilize sales resources such as Zoho, iBank.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Participate in outbound group/incentive sales strategy and outreach
  • Develop marketing and promotional materials to promote KIE group and incentive services.
  • Conduct additional business tasks/special projects in addition to above essential functions as needed.

Qualifications: 

  • College degree preferred
  • MICE operation experience is preferred TCC MICE Coordinator
  • Travel industry operation background is helpful
  • Bilingual desirable
  • Computer & PC literate with working knowledge of Excel
  • Apollo experience preferred
  • Proficient in communication with a wide range of people
  • Ability to multi-task
