The group of new JETs has departed for Japan and now it’s the time of year again when we start recruiting a new crop of applicants for 2017 JET Program!
The JET Program Office is currently seeking enthusiastic former JETs who are interested in going back to their school to promote the JET Program & their experience in Japan as recruiters in the months of September and October.
An alumni recruiter is responsible for scheduling an information session with a school through a contact person (professor, Japanese Club, career service…etc.), carrying out the session, and sending a visit report to the JET Program Office. Ideal candidates are former JETs who are eager to share their positive experience and also who keep contacts with their alma mater so they can set up own information sessions. The JET Program Office will provide a small honorarium to support transportation costs; however, please note it is very limited, so it would be best that recruiters currently reside in the area near the target schools.
Timeline
- August: JET Program Office hires recruiters
- Early September: Selected recruiters schedule information sessions
- September-October: Information sessions take place
- November: Deadline for visit reports
Materials
The JET Program Office will provide promotional materials, PowerPoint slides for the presentations, and talking points prior to the information session.

Below are schools to which we are specifically interested in sending recruiters. In principle, we send one alumnus to each school. Please note that there is a possibility that not all interested individuals are selected to represent the JET Program in case there is strong interest in particular school(s).
