(1) Job Opening at Brandeis – Senior Dept. Coordinator, Study Abroad
* Manages international projects including various country-specific
initiatives, global strategic working groups, international
partnership negotiation, and campus-wide committees. Manages the
annual “I am Global” week, a campus-wide week long internationally
focused celebration for students, faculty and staff. Supervises the
Global Fellows peer group and manages a faculty/student/staff
oversight committee. May be asked to organize and attend
student/faculty events that occur in the evenings or on weekends.
* Oversees the development and dissemination of information related to
Brandeis’s international initiatives including the global web
portal, specific department websites like study abroad, related
social media outlets and Office of Communications publications for
both an internal as well as external audience including
institutional partners, alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff
and prospective students.
* Manages multiple budgets and expenditures in excess of 5 million
dollars including all duties associated with Home School Tuition
billing; Pcard management; payroll oversight; scholarship
reimbursement; and special study abroad CISI Insurance.
* Supervises the two graduate student assistants who provide support
for multiple constituencies within the university including faculty,
staff, students, parents and alumni.
* Develops and produces bi-annual quantitative reports. Develops
surveys, conducts assessment through both pre-and post instruments,
and writes reports on different aspects of Global Brandeis.
* Implants office programming and provides general administrative
oversight for the effective operation of all areas of the Office of
Study Abroad. May fill in for other staff members as needed due to
absence or multiple programs running simultaneously. Manages
multiple calendars, develops public information materials, maintains
confidential files, arranges travel and event planning while serving
as the front line during overseas crisis management events.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree required; Masters degree preferred
* One to three years administrative experience, preferably within
a college or university setting.
* Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
required. Ability to work as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and an ability to think proactively
about administrative processes.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, while maintaining strong
customer service skills.
* Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft
Word, Filemaker Pro, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of PeopleSoft,
InDesign, Terra Dotta, Cascade Content Management (html), and
AdvisorTrac is helpful.
* Knowledge of a second language and/ or experience abroad desired.

> GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As a key member of the enrollment management team, the Director of University Relations develops strategic engagement with US colleges and universities with the goal of growing enrollment for SIT Study Abroad. S/he is responsible the generation of inquiries, the in-person recruitment of students, and the management of daily operations of the university relations unit under the guidance and leadership of the Dean for External Relation and Strategic Enrollment Management. The Director supervises a professional staff of an assistant director, seven remote university relations managers, and a custom program manager to foster a team approach to growing and enhancing relationships with institutions of higher education and related organizations across the US, according to SIT strategic plans. The director ensures effective implementation of strategy and professional communication and tracks information and trends as part of a broader team focused on meeting enrollment targets. * Developing and administering short and long-term TU study abroad options and assisting the Director in monitoring and evaluating study abroad programs
* Liaising with international partner institutions and domestic-based study abroad program providers and collaborating with other administrative and academic departments on-campus regarding all aspects of study abroad
* Supervising the Programs Assistant and student Peer Advisors providing ongoing training and opportunities for professional development
* Managing the study abroad web-based application and enrollment system and collating data to produce statistical reports
* Implementing study abroad marketing strategies to promote study abroad to the TU community
* Overseeing all marketing efforts and publications including updating and maintaining the study abroad and international student exchange websites, developing publications, coordinating social media, and scheduling staff and student participation in study abroad events
* Managing the international exchange program for incoming students including the application and admission process and maintaining exchange balances
* Supporting the Director in the day to day operations of the Study Abroad Office
The selected candidate will be encouraged to be actively involved in the field of international education in the region, nationally, and internationally via participation in professional organizations and conferences. Domestic and international travel may be required.
Requirements: Master’s degree and minimum five years of experience in study abroad advising, program development and administration. The selected candidate must have experience working with various constituencies (e.g., administrators, faculty, and parents); familiarity with marketing techniques and/or student recruitment related to education abroad; strong analytical skills and demonstrated use of computer applications, database and website maintenance; excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills; ability to work as an effective team member; ability to multi-task; highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented; and experience living, working, or studying abroad for a minimum of six months. Knowledge of PeopleSoft, previous experience with web-based study abroad enrollment systems, and knowledge of one or more foreign languages strongly preferred.
Salary/Benefits: $56,000 with full university benefits that include excellent health, life insurance, and retirement plans; tuition remission; and 22 days of annual leave, up to 14 holidays, personal and sick days. This position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.

The Study Abroad unit provides advising to students through all phases of education abroad program selection, preparation and return. The unit coordinates all aspects of select UI-administered study abroad programs and liaises with partners and affiliates for educational programs abroad.
