Contract: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

A-List is a small, innovative educational services provider. We are dedicated to helping students from all backgrounds achieve their academic goals and successfully prepare them for their educational futures. A-List provides the very best in educational services to our clients. Our clients reside throughout the tri-state area, but for our newer tutors, their clients will be predominantly on Long Island. As requests for specific subject tutoring is cyclical, this position would be on an as-needed basis. Our staff is made up of talented and unique individuals, which is why we invest so much time and effort in training and supporting them.

A-List is currently looking to fill their Subject Tutor and Full Time Tutor positions. 

Full Time Tutor

  • Part-time (9+ clients/wk) and full-time (15+ clients/wk) positions available
  • Flexible scheduling (sessions take place after school and/or on weekends)
  • Ongoing support through A-List’s full curriculum training, weekly team meetings, and workshops with experienced tutors
  • Tutoring starts at $49.95/hr with annual raises based on the tutor’s performance reviews • Training is paid at $15/hr at our Manhattan office
  • Our clients reside throughout the tri-state area, but new tutors usually begin with predominantly Long Island students (transportation is provided)
  • Opportunities for growth include tutoring at A-List’s international locations, group classes for local programs, and curriculum development

Requirements:

  • Scored at least 2100 the SAT; i.e., 700+ Math, Reading, Writing (or 31+ on the ACT). Applicants may be asked to demonstrate their mastery by taking an actual SAT or ACT in our office.
  • Be able to teach ALL 3 sections of the SAT and ALL 4 sections of the ACT
  • Have experience in education (not necessarily with the SAT or ACT)
  • Graduated from a top-tier school
  • Be able to commit for one year (until the June ACT)
  • Have a valid driver’s license for at least one year prior to hiring
  • Must be available on Tuesday for staff meetings (11-12:30)
  • Must be available on Fridays for training sessions (3-4 hours)
  • Sign a non-compete agreement

Subject Tutor

Subjects Requested:

  • Math (Algebra I and II, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus)
  • History (US and World)
  • Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • English (Essays and Literature support)
  • Spanish

Requirements:

  • Have experience in education, specifically in the subject specialty area
  • Graduated from a top-tier school with a degree in subject specialty
  • Must live on Long Island and have access to transportation
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability in the subject area (either through testing or some other means)
  • Be able to teach SAT Subject tests, AP, and Regents
  • Be able to commit through the academic year
  • Have a valid driver’s license for at least one year prior to hiring and a clean driving record
  • Tutoring starts at $47+ per hour with annual raises based on the tutor’s performance reviews
