This part-time, ten month position is responsible during the busiest times of the year for responding to general student inquiries and assisting students with Brown and Alternative program selection and admission processes; as well as answering student questions about policies and procedures. The position also provides general administrative support for department operations, including advertising OIP events, booking rooms, scheduling meetings, producing office database reports, and processing paperwork for Brown credit approval. This position will require work during the academic year (25 to 30 hours per week), with 2 months off during the summer. 

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years experience in a busy office.
  • Previous study abroad experience and prior experience at a college/university (preferred)
  • Must be accurate, detailed, task oriented, organized, and reliable.
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask and change priorities quickly.
  • Ability to properly handle confidential information.
  • Must be very comfortable with computers and have knowledge of databases and word processing. Preference given for experience with Horizons database, Microsoft Office suite, and experience generating office reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Patience with students required. Comfort working with people from a wide variety of cultures.
  • Ability to work on a team

Salary: Salaries for new hires at Brown usually fall between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for the position grade. More information about our salary ranges can be found here.
