Job Description:

Western Kentucky University’s (WKU) Office of International Enrollment Management is seeking applicants for the position of International Admissions Officer. The International Admissions Officer serves as primary administrative support of the University’s international enrollment recruitment efforts. This is a full- time position under the supervision of the Coordinator, International Admissions.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

  • Processes all undergraduate international admission applications
  • Maintains credential evaluation resources and knowledge by utilizing WES, ECE, AACRAO Edge
  • Evaluates all non-United States academic credentials for all potential undergraduate students
  • Acts as liaison for and assists other departments on campus with credential evaluation for study abroad students including creation of catalogs in Banner for international universities
  • Provides BANNER and Sunapsis software support
  • Provides document imaging support
  • Works extensively with existing recruitment partners
  • Provides market research for credential evaluations and admissions processing
  • Ability to comprehend and accurately evaluate foreign academic credentials
  • Assists the Coordinator of International Admission in day-to-day admissions process
  • Some international and domestic travel may be required

Texas Tech University (TTU) Office of International Affairs (OIA) is seeking dedicated and dynamic candidates for the position of Study Abroad Director. This position reports to the Senior Director for International Education and Enrollment Management, and supervises a full-time staff of 4. Work is performed collaboratively with colleagues on campus and with partner institutions to ensure coordination, compliance and smooth operation of international programs. The Director is responsible for managing a fiscally sound program that is financially self-sustaining.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

* Directs and supervises all study abroad office operations including program design; resource allocation; website and database systems; promotion of study abroad; staff recruitment, hiring, training and retention. Oversees the study abroad process including marketing, application, orientation, safety and liability issues, academic credit and evaluation. Oversees development, administration, and evaluation of reciprocal exchange, affiliated and faculty-led programs.
* Assists department campus-wide to offer relevant study abroad programs for their students. Implements a transparent process for program approval of faculty-led, affiliate and reciprocal exchange programs. Advocates for international educational experiences and serves as the principal liaison with the faculty and departments to integrate international experiences into the curricula. Assists faculty in developing and maintaining faculty-led programs.
* In coordination with the Sr. Director for International Education and Enrollment Management collaborates with the Director of the TTU Center in Seville to develop, administer, and evaluate the Center activities.
* Coordinates with other university departments to develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures regarding study abroad programs at TTU.
* Designs and implements a strategic plan for the Study Abroad unit that supports the goals of the Office of International Affairs and the University.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
* Ability to communicate in a language other than English.
* Experience with StudioAbroad, marketing, and website design.
* Experience developing international partnerships through affiliate and reciprocal exchange agreements.
* Thorough knowledge of study abroad best practices, especially in the area of risk management and faculty-led programs.
* Demonstrated ability to work with faculty to develop new study abroad programs.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other offices on campus to develop university policy and procedures for study abroad.
* Should have extensive experience studying/living/working abroad and the ability to work with people from other cultures.
