Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Business Manager, Budget and Financial Analysis is responsible for the financial operation of the Education Abroad office, including the approximately 80 short term and ten semester-long programs administered by the unit. Responsibilities include: developing, recommending, and implementing financial management procedures and best practices to ensure optimum utilization of Education Abroad resources; Education Abroad program budget development, monitoring, and reconciliation; financial reporting and analysis of Education Abroad activity to support the business decisions of the Director of Education Abroad; reviewing, processing, and monitoring program expenses; tracking program revenues and disbursement of program surplus as appropriate; serving as point of contact for domestic and foreign vendors to ensure successful implementation of education abroad programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.A. or B.S. in Accounting or related field; Minimum of three years experience in general business administration of multi-million dollar organization; Significant experience with analyzing accounting data from various accounting systems, and utilizing that data for financial reporting; Ability to think creatively and strategically and to analyze and resolve complex business and budget issues, balancing protection of resources with facilitation of operational needs; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization; Outstanding interpersonal and oral and written communications skills; Highly organized, with ability to work independently or in a team on multiple tasks, dealing effectively with prioritization and deadlines.

Preferences:

MBA preferred. Prior work experience in a higher education environment, preferably in a self-supported education abroad office. Knowledge of the business, budgeting, and personnel practices of the University of Maryland preferred.

Salary range: high 60s to low 70s
Experience living or working abroad highly desirable.

(3) Assistant Director for Academics, NYU London
 New York University London (NYUL) seeks a new Assistant Director for Academics. This is a full-time position reporting to the Site Director and coordinating with the Associate Director for resources and planning. The post-holder takes a full role in and manages Academic Affairs of the site, including oversight of, and cooperation with the faculty, including education and student research, as well as working in collaboration with other members of the site staff as appropriate. A key focus of the position is to ensure the effective delivery of high quality academic programs that meet NYU strategic goals and have established NYU as a global leader in international higher education. The position is also responsible for promoting the academic profile of NYU in London and the broader community. Liaising with appropriate key staff at the Office for Global programmes, the Assistant Director for Academic Affairs is a member of the NYUL Senior Management team. This position is based in London.

Position requirements

-Minimum 3 years of experience as an academic in a higher education institution. high level of familiarity with the US educational system, either due to teaching experience in the US or studying in the US is a plus
 -Evidence of high quality teaching, administrative skills, curriculum development, leadership, and research activity appropriate to level

(4) Assistant Director of International Advisement @ Juliard

Responsibilities:

Immigration Management and Advisement

  • Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Office (ARO), assisting the Director with preparation, processing, and advising immigration and related documents including I-20 and DS-2019 forms, school transfers, extension of stays, practical and academic training, reinstatements, and change of status, visa support letters, and family invitations
  • Provides general guidance and advisement to international students, faculty, staff, and visitors and provides appropriate referrals when necessary
  • Provides immigration advising for related visa categories such as O-1s, TNs, etc.
  • Interprets and monitors changes of US government regulations
  • Advises international students, faculty and visitors on the responsibilities and benefits of their visa status
  • Maintains a working knowledge on the latest immigration laws and federal regulations affecting international students and exchange visitors, and current world and economic affairs
  • Creates and publishes informational materials including pre-arrival materials, procedural handouts, and online materials including the website, Facebook, and MyJuilliard
  • Conducts routine reviews of SEVIS alerts
  • Actively conducts reviews on immigration compliance as changes in university and federal policies occur
  • Administers immigration check-ins for all foreign nationals, including faculty and staff
  • Updates immigration information into Colleague
  • Runs reports on deadlines, expirations, and other related topics in regards to the international population to ensure compliance

Programs & Services

  • Initiates and participates in the coordination of multicultural and social programming and activities for the Juilliard international population, including the creation of marketing materials, room management, assessment, and catering as needed
  • Conducts English language interviews for all prospective international students during Juilliard’s Audition Week
  • Manages webpage updates and online marketing of events and deadlines
  • Assess through surveys the effectiveness of current programming efforts and use data to improve events
  • Assists in the creation of online orientation content
  • Serves as key contact and liaison for general questions regarding immigration statuses, benefits, and procedures
  • Recommends, implements, and manages outreach efforts such as the OIA Facebook account, international alumni connections, and general programming to best serve the international community
  • Presents sessions during the New International Student Orientation and aids with the planning
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to create programs and processes to aid the Juilliard international population
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of student workers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of formal experience directly working with international students in a higher education setting
  • Operational knowledge of SEVIS reporting requirements, as well as federal laws and regulations pertaining to international students in F-1 and J-1 status
  • Demonstrated ability to research, comprehend, analyze, and apply complex immigration regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current technology in student information systems and strong competency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong understanding of and sensitivity to international student issues
  • Knowledge of current world and economic affairs
  • Understanding of and commitment to diversity and the mission of The Juilliard School
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across cultures, both individually and in group settings
