About the JET Program and the JET Program Office:
The JET Program seeks to help enhance internationalization in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between Japan and other nations. The program aims to enhance foreign language education in Japan, and to promote international exchange at the local level through fostering ties between Japanese youth and foreign youth. The JET Program Office at the Embassy of Japan is responsible for the application and selection process for U.S. candidates as well as orientation and training for participants selected from the DC-MD-VA area.

About the Position
Title: JET Program Coordinator
Salary: Commensurate with experience; call JET Office for details

Duties:
The JET Program Coordinator is responsible for the general management of the JET Program under the supervision of the Education Counselor and the JET Program Coordinators.
The duties of the position may include:
•Promoting the JET Program through recruiting events such as career fairs and information sessions and managing the online media presence
•Implementing the application and responding to applicant inquiries
•Coordinating the application review process including communication with the committee of reviewers
•Organizing events such as information sessions, attendance at career fairs, orientations and training, receptions, or events sponsored by the JET Alumni Association (JETAA)
•Creating surveys and providing statistical analysis at the various stages of the selection process
•Other projects as assigned by the Education Counselor or JET Program Coordinators

Required Qualifications:
•U.S. citizenship or green card
•Bachelor’s degree
•Strong English language speaking and writing skills
•Excellent organizational skills and people skills
•Standard computer skills–Internet, E-mail, Microsoft Office suite

Desired Qualifications:
•Knowledge of and/or experience with the JET Program
•Knowledge of and/or experience with international exchange programs
•Knowledge of and/or experience with Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop
•Japanese language ability
