Position #1: Partner Onboarding Architect, APAC, YouTube
Posted by: Google/YouTube
Type: Full-Time

Job Description

YouTube’s growing user base provides unique challenges and new responsibilities everyday. Fast-paced, dynamic and proactive, the Content and User Operations team serves YouTube’s advertisers, publishers and users around the world. Like a diligent detective, your responsibilities are to uncover and understand common issues facing these groups, and then work with the right teams to tackle the problem. Whether surfacing issues to our technical teams or recommending improvements to the team’s processes and tools, you enhance the user experience on YouTube while helping increase our loyal user base over time.

As a Partner Operations Specialist in Content Operations you will work with studios, networks, and post-production houses throughout APAC to facilitate content ingestion, processing, and publishing to the Google Play and YouTube transactional film and TV services, which are rapidly expanding worldwide. While many partners are major film and TV distributors, others will have little experience with a global digital distribution platform, and it is your role to be their empathetic and diplomatic guide into this space while still enforcing our processes, policies, and specs to ensure a high level of quality and operational efficiency on both sides. While working within a small team of Partner Operations Coordinators, you will be part of the effort to proactively uncover and understand common issues our partners face, and work with cross-functional teams to tackle these problems. Managing communications between cross-functional teams is vital as you drive product solutions via development of tools and processes that enhance the partner experience on Google Play and YouTube. In this role you will have many key customers/stakeholders — both internal (Business Development, Merchandising, Product) and external (content partners and aggregators) — and it’s your job to build great relationships with them all. Working with partners across many different countries, languages, and timezones, you will be a key part of the global operations team.

Responsibilities

· Onboard new content partners and facilitate the expansion of their content availability worldwide.

· Streamline operational workflow by identifying bottlenecks and applying efficient, short-term workarounds while also working/planning long-term solutions, e.g., requesting/designing tool enhancements with Technical Account Managers.

· Provide ongoing support for existing partners – ensuring that their content is live on the service within availability windows, has correct pricing, and that all new release content is live on time while at the same time responding to any technical issues they may be facing with ingestion (e.g., Aspera connections, misformatted XML, video quality issues).

· Work directly with our partners to drive product solutions through systems integration and APIs.

· Collaborate with our Business Development, Product, and Merchandising teams to ensure all promotional and strategic partner initiatives are met. Support a team of Technical Account Managers in establishing and executing processes to facilitate the ingestion and processing of video content.

Minimum qualifications

· BA/BS degree in either Film and Media, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics, Finance or other quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

· Experience working as part of a team at another digital platform (such as on-demand TV, video streaming site, etc), major studio/network, or post-production facility specializing in servicing digital platforms with an APAC partner focus.

· Experience in being able to integrate internal and external systems and automate processes using a variety of tools and solutions, including APIs, XML feeds, and scripting.

· Inventory process flow experience involving data mining/statistical analysis. Knowledge of spreadsheets, with working knowledge of HTML, XML. Ability to manage and track large volumes of data.

· Impeccable communication and organizational skills. Positive client-facing attitude for troubleshooting and timely resolution.

· Understanding of film and TV requirements/regulations worldwide, including video and audio compression tools for broadcast and online, as well as online video delivery solutions, including secure streaming, DRM, encryption, and adaptive bit rate video delivery.
