Human Resources Generalist Overview: 

The HR Generalist is primarily responsible for administering policies relating to all phases of human resources activity.

    • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
    • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
    • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
    • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
    • Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
    • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
    • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
    • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
    • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
    • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
    • Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
    • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • HR certifications a plus
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of HR experience
  • Experience with ADP a plus
  • Knowledge of Japanese language and culture is helpful but not necessary for this position.
  • Broad knowledge of federal, state, local employment laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft programs to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategy designed to support and deliver business strategy
  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, planning, organizational and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple complex demands simultaneously covering a broad spectrum of HR activities
  • Must possess significant understanding of employee management, and strong demonstrated abilities in strategic thinking, process efficiency, change management, problem solving, are essential
  • Must have a high tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to respond to quickly changing demands and priorities

Provider Relations/Customer Service Coordinator Overview: 

This position is primarily responsible for acting on behalf of major Japanese travel insurance underwriters in providing its members traveling or residing primarily in Americas with support in procuring appropriate medical care and in filing insurance claims; and to receiving and making calls in accord with the terms and conditions of the Japanese insurance policy by performing the following duties.

  • Answers calls according to client-specific service requirements with superior customer service skills.
  • Logs information on calls received/made and maintains detailed and accurate records.
  • Serves as liaise with medical providers to arrange medical treatment and direct billing to company address.
  • Serves as liaise with client insurance companies’ representatives in Japan regarding adjudication, status, and eligibility issues.
  • Enters call information into the claims system accurately.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese a plus
  • Knowledge of Japanese language or culture is a plus.
  • May require some travel (domestic & international) on an as needed basis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
  • Demonstrated detail-oriented approach to tasks and deliverables
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to excel in fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, team environment
  • Strong client service skills
