Overview:

EC San Francisco is one of 18 schools in five countries that are part of EC English, a dynamic, innovative and fast growing group of Intensive English Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Grow the base of EC host families by developing creative strategies and activities to continuously recruit new families
  • Manage relationship with two homestay vendors , balancing placements with both vendor families and EC recruited families
  • Counsel students regarding all aspects of their homestay experience, including cultural adjustment
  • Respond to student complaints/requests within 24 hours
  • Respondto all homestay requests and reservations from EC’s central admissions office within 24 hours
  • Effectively use EC enterprise software (KONNECT) to allocate students to their desired accommodations
  • Allocate and send homestay family profiles as soon as placed and not later than three weeks before arrival
  • Assess the quality of new and existing host families through annual visits and feedback from student feedback
  • Inform Host families and/or HF vendor about student arrival dates and times in a timely and accurate manner
  • Counsel students and families as needed to resolve any conflicts or disputes
  • Prepare accurate Host Family remittance report and process payment through EC finance department
  • Plan annual Host Family events, e.g. reception or potluck at school
  • Have a global understanding of all student services issues and participate in the student services team, attending team meetings, contributing ideas for improvements and offering contributions that may be outside of the key functions of the position

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in customer service and/or logistics
  • At least one year experience working with international students
  • Knowledge of and comfort with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience working with on-line software programs

Desirable:

  • ESL/EFL teaching experience
  • Experience living/working abroad
  • Knowledge of a second language, helpful
