Overview:

The University of Nicosia Global Semesters has an opening for an Enrollment Advisor in Manhattan, NY.   Global Semesters is the education abroad unit of the University of Nicosia, one of the largest English-language research universities in the Mediterranean. As a member of the enrollment team, reporting to the Enrollment Manager, this  person will be responsible for responding to new student inquiries via inbound  and outbound telephone/email, as well as assisting enrolled participants with  program-related questions, application procedures and other tasks as they  prepare to study abroad on a Global Semesters program.

Job Duties:

  • Proactively recruit, advise and assist students with program selection, academic fit, application and approval process, credit transfer, and sources of funding specific to home campus policies and procedures.
  • Foster a relationship with students from submission of inquiry questions, through the application process, until the student departs for his/her program abroad.
  • Answer student and parent questions and provide excellent student service via telephone and e-mail.
  • Retain enrolled students.
  • Prepare students for their study abroad experience including advising on academic, travel and accommodation options.
  • Produce and analyze reports on enrollment status.
  • Assist in certain aspects of advertising, marketing and social media of our programs to students and the university community.
  • Overnight travel to college campuses for study abroad fairs may be required.
  • 40 hour work week, hours between 10am and 7pm EST.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to undertake domestic travel
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and strong computer skills (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-cultural, multi-destination co-workers
  • Demonstrated maturity, with ability to independently follow work-plans and meet objectives
  • Strong passion to help students make the most of their education abroad opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience, including consultative advising experience, study abroad or other university office experience
  • Study abroad or other international experience
  • Ability to manage and grow social media presence
