Overview:

Seattle University has an exciting, dynamic opportunity for a Program Coordinator to join our community.

The Program Coordinator for Global Engagement is responsible for the logistics and administration of various on-campus international activities including support for international faculty, programs for international visitors to SU, and international programming for SU students and our local community. The position reports to the Associate Provost for Global Engagement and requires extensive collaboration with other campus departments and partner institutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the program and a minimum of two years of recent work experience as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Demonstrate thorough hands-on knowledge of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services/Department of State J visa regulations and Exchange Visitor Program regulations, in particular in the categories of Student College/University, Research Scholar, and Short-term Scholar; familiarity withSEVIS compliance and reporting requirements.

Must understand the needs of international students and faculty, communicate effectively appropriately with people of diverse backgrounds, adapt personal behavior and program functions appropriately for cultural differences.

This position requires a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a U.S. higher education environment, including familiarity with the administrative functions and roles of various key offices that work with international students/scholars and sponsored students.

Familiarity with Catholic and/or Jesuit higher education.

Prior experience managing budgets and developing and implementing assessments.

Five years of combined experience in the following areas: program management, event planning, international travel planning,SEVIS/immigration processing.
