Position: Administrative Coordinator (Education and Strategic Initiatives)

Overview:

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Programs and the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Administrative Coordinator will assist in coordinating the Department’s academic and student activities as well as the department’s digital initiatives.

Responsibilities include: assisting students with course registration; responding to prospective student inquiries; coordinating student and student/faculty events; coordinating financial aid payments with the Department’s administrator; assisting with initiatives related to growing the Department’s digital presence; website management; social network site management and updates (e.g. Facebook); database development; coordinating department announcements, etc. This individual will provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty and other clients and will assume other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus 3-5 years of related work experience.

The candidate selected for this position must undergo a full background check prior to a final offer employment being made.

Successful candidate will have: the ability to function independently and do so under pressure; the ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, and good judgment in sensitive and confidential matters; strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills required; attention to detail; ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks; and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills are essential. Must be able to work successfully with diverse groups of people.

Excellent computer skills including thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Facebook, mainstream database programs, and HTML coding. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with: a professional interest in student affairs and/or higher education; experience working with educational programs; a strong work ethic and ability to work flexible hours when needed.
