Position: Administrative Assistant

Hours: 35-40 hours/week
Location: Seattle, Washington
Salary: DOE (includes medical, dental, and vision insurance)
Starting Date: As soon as possible

Overview:

Seattle-based NorthWest Student Exchange (NWSE) is seeking an Administrative Assistant for its Japan and international programs.

Join the NWSE team and gain skills and experience in a variety of office tasks, documentation, program administration, and international exchange.  Develop your organizational and cross-cultural communication skills in a casual yet professional setting.

Job Duties:

Assist International Program Coordinators with:

  • Processing student applications, preparing mailings to program participants, processing and following up on program documents, data entry
  • Communicating with coordinators, students, families, schools, and partner organizations
  • Japanese-language advising
  • Additional projects and tasks as required (e.g. creating marketing materials, school visits, researching exchange-related resources)

Required Qualifications:

  • At least six months of successful experience with administrative work in an office setting
  • Native speaker of Japanese; able to communicate professionally in Japanese
  • Motivated to perform common administrative tasks, including preparing mailings, data entry, answering the phone, processing documents
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interest in international high school exchange programs
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally in English and Japanese by phone and e-mail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Team-player and quick learner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience living abroad
  • Experience with publishing/editing software such as Photoshop, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficiency in a third language, such as Korean, Thai, Chinese, Portuguese, etc.
