Basic Purpose:
Responsible for all aspects of assigned existing client and distribution partner relationships with significant focus in Japan as well as Korea and other locales in Asia (and potentially Australia) working in team based model with new business development, consultant relations and other relationship management professionals.  Fluency in Japanese and English and ability to cover part of the Japanese time zone is a requirement. While the primary investment focus of this role will be on floating rate loans it is expected that this individual will have the knowledge to represent other focus investment strategies in client, prospect and consultant meetings as well participate in other speaking events such as conferences and industry events in region.  Focus will be on developing detailed client plan to ensure revenue retention and expansion of relationship through cross-selling and ensuring that all day-to-day service, investment related and ad-hoc needs are met.  Develops internal partnerships within EV and affiliate organizations to add value to client relationships and further enhance and grow firm presence in assigned region.

Primary Responsibilities:
1.Maintain and enhance relationships with existing Japanese and other Asian or regional clients and distribution partners as assigned with focus on client retention and growth through cross-selling.

2.Ensure that all service and contractual client requirements are met in accordance with client expectations in terms of timeliness, accuracy and language requirements.

3.Ability to act as investment team resource representing various investment strategies, with primary focus on Bank Loan, for Asian marketplace constituents including existing  and future clients and distribution partners, prospects, consultants and clients in region and EV locations.  Ability to participate in other marketplace speaking engagements as required such as conferences and industry events.

4.Primary point of contact for Singapore based business development team and EV relationship manager and client service team on coordinating new business initiatives in region including RFP, marketing materials and timely responses to market and strategy related inquiries from EVMI team and market participants in Asian region. Existing and new distribution partnerships and other business relationships will be included as appropriate.

5.Assist in development of regionally appropriate client materials including distribution partner marketing materials including participation in development of white papers and other thought leadership collateral.

6.Assist with product development initiatives related to bank loan and other investment strategies including new vehicle development and existing vehicle enhancements related to existing relationships.

7.Assist with regional marketplace communications with language translation as required.

8.Assist in development of region specific industry best practices in marketing and client materials.

9.Acquires and maintains in-depth knowledge of the firm’s products and services.

10.Together with the responsible Sales Manager develop a cross-selling plan and help promote additional investment product sales with goal of increasing revenue.

11.Working with appropriate salesperson, coordinate and host new business development meetings (introductory, due diligence, finals, etc.)  for Asian and other regional prospects and consultants in Boston (or affiliate company location) working with appropriate support, marketing etc. teams. This is meant to be new business meetings only.

12.Assists with related additional projects or initiatives as requested, including acting as bank loan and other strategy subject matter expert for other EVMI business and client initiatives- as necessary.

Job Requirements:
1.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. CFA designation and or MBA preferred and strongly encouraged.

2.Minimum of seven or more years of industry experience in portfolio management, sales, marketing or relationship management. Having an existing relevant client network and understanding of Asian markets is key with emphasis on Japan.

3.Fluency in English and Japanese and ability to work part of Japan time zone required.

4.Significant travel requirement, minimum 1-2 weeks per quarter.

5.Strong written and oral communication and problem resolution skills are critical, as well as ability to work well with a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
