Job description follows:
The Patsy T. Mink Center for Business & Leadership (“MCBL”) shall exist under the auspices of the YWCA of O`ahu to provide technical assistance to women entrepreneurs, nascent and established. It shall also provide training and other forms of support, such as coaching and networking to individuals and groups, consistent with the mission and objectives of the YWCA of O`ahu.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating all operational facets of the MCBL counseling and training. This position requires a person with energy and creativity, a person dedicated to helping women from all backgrounds develop the skills and expertise they need to become small business owners and leaders in their organizations.

Essential Duties

  • The Program Coordinator is responsible for scheduling counseling, training and technical support programming of the MCBL, which will occur primarily at the YWCA Laniākea.
  • Serve as liaison to YWCA staff work support various functional areas of the MCBL.
  • Responsible for completing required paperwork (quarterly and annual reports, program production summaries, accident reports, etc.) associated with each program activity.
  • Support the Director in complying with federal grant budget, evaluation and service delivery requirements.
  • Support daily operations of the walk-in center, including responding to walk-in clients, communicating with partner and referral agencies and supporting general daily operating needs.
  • Build connections with YWCA clients, members and volunteers. Should develop knowledge about and be able to effectively communicate YWCA events, programs, and services.
  • Maintains database of members and guests served; and tracking of performance and activity
  • Coordinates volunteers and program participant schedules, orients new volunteers, answers general program inquiries via phone and emails.
  • Assists in monitoring programs to meet stated goals. Consistently collects, organizes and reports outputs and outcomes for grants and AUW reporting. May help prepare reports on program evaluations, member satisfaction, and volunteer feedback.
  • May help coordinate fundraising efforts, meetings/events, and marketing and web services.
  • Adheres to YWCA policies and consistently upholds established procedures and processes pertaining to membership, hospitality, and YWCA programs. May assist with member data entry and/or payment processing and supports compliance with cash handling and other YWCA operations’ policies & procedures.

Qualifications

  • Candidate should possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Skilled in project development and implementation, with experience in successfully managing complex projects that involve multiple participants to achieve results.
  • Ability to travel, as needed.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends to meet needs of target market.

Education and Experience

  • Technically capability with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and Internet tools.
  • Experience in program administration for non-profit provider, including working with and coordinating volunteers or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in working directly with low-income populations is preferred.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree.

The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Director of the MCBL.

This is a part-time position as an employee of the YWCA of Oahu, with an hourly salary and YWCA benefits commensurate with qualifications.
