Overview:
The Corporation for National and Community Service was established as a Federal agency in 1993 to engage Americans of all ages and backgrounds in community-based service. Together, its Senior Corps and AmeriCorps programs promote the ethic of service and help solve critical community problems in every state, many Indian tribes, and most U. S. territories. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Americans are joining forces to address community needs in education, homeland security, housing, health care, environmental protection, and disaster relief.

•Relocation expenses will not be paid
•A 2-year probationary period is required for new Federal service employees
•Merit Promotion applicants must submit a SF-50 to verify status and grade

Duties:
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
•Reviewing and evaluating grantee programs;
•Reviewing and assessing grant applications and negotiating grants;
•Providing ongoing support to grantees to facilitate grant compliance and serves as liaison with other Corporation departments;
•Identifying and brokering program development, training, and technical assistance needs;
•Compiling and analyzing program data and preparing summaries, reports, or other documents reflecting the data analysis;
•Monitoring grantee compliance and providing assistance to grantees in resolving issues;
•Monitoring resource capabilities and identifying approaches to attain goals; and,
•Promoting grantee networks and fostering informational and infrastructure activities.

Qualifications Required:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (paid, unpaid, or volunteer work) comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the NY-02 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes directly related work experience in grants management and program development and management.

Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant’s resume.
