Job Position: Job Opportunity at the Seattle Japanese Language School (WA)

Job Details:

Open part-time teaching positions with the Seattle Japanese Language School. Two alumni are currently teaching at JLS.

Class is held on Saturdays, starting July 10, till June 16, 2012
9:00am-11:30am. Two recesses in between.

Looking for:

Intermediate 1 level.
We use Textbook Adventure in Japanese, By Hiromi Peterson.
Expecting very small class (around 8), ages from 8-11.
Pay scale is between $15.00 and $20.00 per hour for first year, depending on the level.
Level 4
Education major in 4 year college and Teaching certificate.
Level 3
Education major in 4year college, and/or graduate of 4 year college with experience teaching Japanese in qualified school for over 10 years.
Level 2
Graduate of 4 year college or Early childhood education in junior college (2 years) and over 5 years teaching Japanese in qualified school.
Level 1
Graduate of 4 year college or early childhood education in 2 year college and over 1 year experience in teaching Japanese in qualified school.

Wage information:

  • 4 hours x hourly wage + $10 per Saturday
  • Paid monthly at the beginning of the month.
  • Paid monthly meeting 1 hour.
  • Manning the booth at Cherry blossom Festival and extra work for Undokai or performance day is paid upon agreement hours.
  • Class supply is covered up to $50 per class per school year.
  • No pay for absent days.
  • No vacation pay.
  • No sick day.
