Jobs: Disney English Foreign Trainer and Very Young Learner Trainer (China)

Disney English uses child-friendly teaching methods to inspire children to become passionate English learners. The Disney English curriculum has been developed under the guidance of an advisory board of world-class academics, including internationally recognized English language learning specialists and early childhood development experts as well as artists, musicians, and Grammy Award-nominated songwriters.

Position Overview

Disney is looking for experienced individuals to instruct children aged 2-10 at Disney English Language Learning Centers in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, Suzhou, Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai. Trainers will use an innovative and immersive Disney program, leveraging Disney’s beloved characters, stories, songs, animation and other materials, to provide a highly engaging and effective premium learning experience.

Work Environment

Trainers spend 40 hours per week in their centers; of which approximately 21-24 hours are spent in the classroom. The remainder of the time is spent preparing lessons, conducting parent/student demonstrations to help market our program, attending staff meetings, development training and engaging in other center activities as needed. Trainers work a 5 day week with two consecutive days off during the week.  Shifts do not start earlier than 8:30am and would end no later than 9:00pm.

Saturdays and Sundays are Disney English’s busiest and longest days at the centers. Trainers are required to work both days, and can expect that one of the days will have a 12 hour shift. Trainers do receive 2 consecutive days off during the week, to serve as their “weekend”. Trainers get 5 paid vacation days, plus 11 national holidays.

Classes are separated based on a student’s level of the English language, but trainers will mostly have classes with children roughly the same age. All trainers are guaranteed to teach at least one  “Hello World” class with children ages 2-4 years old.  We also will have a few trainers in each center who will work predominantly with Very Young Learners (VYL) and focus on the Hello World program.
