Job: Paid Internship at Japan Society of Northern California (SF)

The Japan Society of Northern California has a part-time internship available with a monthly stipend. The intern provides administrative support to the Japan Society staff and helps maintain the Society’s on-line presence. This position requires a pleasant office demeanor, good written and spoken English language skills, good organization with an eye for detail, and a capacity to multi-task. The intern is part of a small team, demonstrating initiative to solve challenges.

Required Qualifications:

・Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
・Experience with customized membership databases and data entry
・Experience with websites and social networking sites including Facebook and LinkedIn

Desirable Qualifications:

・Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver or similar HTML programs
・Strong writing and proofreading skills
・Knowledge of Japanese culture and/or language
・Ability to work some evenings and weekends

Responsibilities:

・Update the Society’s website, Facebook and LinkedIn sites
・Maintain database
・Assist staff with event calendar, fundraising and membership mailings
・Support Program Officer in program-related research (speakers, venues, cost estimates, etc.)
・Create, post and send press releases on Society programs, classes, etc.
・Assist staff at Society events
・Additional general administrative tasks as needed
