In this high profile role, you will: assist in determining priorities, objectives and strategies for trade, investment and general business relations with Japan; propose to the ministry annual programming for Japan and implement as approved; network with media; provide advice to senior government and business leaders; provide high-quality intelligence on Japan; work with various ministries, levels of government, private-sector companies and organizations, and academic institutions.

Qualifications:
– Extensive knowledge of Ontario’s business and economic interests and objectives in Japan to attract investment and trade
– Sound knowledge of Ontario’s and Japan’s governments, economies, decision-making processes and business cultures
– Superior project and issues management experience and demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
– Extensive experience in policy development and program delivery processes
– Strong oral and written communication, presentation, negotiation, consultation and interpersonal skills
– Computer skills to prepare spreadsheets, correspondence, conduct research and prepare reports

Mandatory Requirements:
– Canadian Citizenship
– Ability to obtain Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) clearance
– Ability to pass medical examination
– Proficiency in Japanese
