Job: Human Resources at Konica Minolta in Tokyo

The advertised position is for an entry level job in Human Resources at Konica Minolta Holdings, an internationally known Japanese manufacturing company specializing in optics and business technology. This job listing is for an entry-level position in Tokyo, and the company is seeking to specifically hire a former CIR for the position.

After a training period the successful candidate would have an opportunity to apply their own unique foreign perspective to domestic HR management issues and strategic planning. It is likely that the candidate would play an integral role in the hiring and training of other foreigners within the company. Additionally the candidate would be responsible for spearheading the way for more foreigners to come. As important as it is to fit into the company culture, part of the role is to help domestically-minded staff develop a more culturally sensitive and international mindset. Ideal Candidate Profile:

– Have worked as a CIR for 1 year or longer.
– Be a native English speaker with strong Japanese. JLPT Level 1 is not required. Daily communication level is acceptable.
– Possess superior communication skills. Be outgoing and enjoy working and collaborating with others.
– Be mature, good natured, flexible, a strong team player, and a very fast learner. Have a deep understanding of Japanese culture and business manners.
-A background in liberal arts is desirable but any educational background will be considered.
-Prior experience in Human Resources is ideal but not a prerequisite.

Visa sponsorship and housing assistance is available in Tokyo. The position will be on a one year contract and salary and benefits are determined based on the candidates’ skills and experience.

In principle potential applicants should be willing to visit Tokyo for an interview in early September. Start date is October 1st, 2009.
