Description:

Nippon TV is Japan’s largest commercial television station.  The Washington, DC bureau is responsible for covering political affairs in the United States for our Japanese audience.

As a producer, you would be chiefly responsible for monitoring and summarizing political news and information from around Washington.  This would include attending press briefings at the White House, State Department, and Pentagon, monitoring daily news sources, creating and maintaining contacts with government officials, and setting up interviews.  You would assist the reporters in creating daily news stories sent to Tokyo for national broadcast, as well as longer term features.  The position would include travel nationally and abroad to cover elections and international meetings.

The ideal candidate would be conversational in Japanese, have good organizational skills, and have strong knowledge of political and international affairs.
