We are currently accepting applications for the 2009-10 school year for the following positions:

Middle School

  • Algebra I Regents (grade 8)
  • Earth Science Regents (grade 8)

High School
• Global Studies Regents (grade 10)

  • Japanese (grades 10-12)

  • Living Environment Regents (grade 9)
  • Special Education (team teacher, grades 9-12)

CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS NYS CERTIFICATION IN THE APPROPRIATE AREA.

Our Mission :
New Heights Academy Charter School provides a college preparatory education for students in grades 5-12 in the Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods of Upper Manhattan . Our academically rigorous curriculum will ensure that all students possess the knowledge, skills, and desire to achieve challenging post secondary education and career goals. Simultaneously, our nurturing environment of small class sizes and a focus on character education will ensure that our students develop a strong self-identity conducive to leading responsible lives as citizens in our global society.

Our Requirements – Candidates must:

  • hold certification in the area for which they are applying
  • have experience working in middle and high schools (or with students of that age group)

2. What is appealing to you about becoming a member of the NHACS faculty?
3. What do you believe is the role of schools in our society?
