We are looking for J>E translators for a fast-moving, high volume project.
The subjects are electronics, business documents and financial documents. If
you are interested in joining a highly committed gorup of language
professionals and can work at a high rate of output for the next 5
weeks this is a good job for you. Minimum output is 8000 words per week.

I have not confirmed this but this sounds like the other large scale “all you can translate” projects out there which I know are all coming from the same source (a big litigation).
There are lots of agencies bidding on different parts of this deal. If you’re new to translation and you get emails like this:
1) Check the agency’s reputation (via google groups, net searches, contacts with veterans)
2) Know your rates. Be firm and negotiate, but don’t go too low.
3) Know your limits (unless you enjoy 16 hour days in front of PC frantically trying to catch up)
I am not a veteran by any means, but if there are some fresh JETs looking to get into freelancing, these are few things to remember.
