Job: Law Document Review – Chicago

The following job posting is a job being offered at a law firm.  The
main element of the job is that the applicant must have Japanese
language skills, legal experience is a preference.  This could be an
amazing opportunity for someone that is interested in Intellectual
Properties Law.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Must speak, read and write Japanese fluently
  • Maintain patent files per Firm procedures
  • Prepare and assemble new patent application filings
  • Review and independently draft patent prosecution documents (Formal papers, Extension Requests, Amendments,Information Disclosure Statements, Notice of Allowances, Issue Fees, Maintenance Fees, Issued Patents, etc.)
  • Prepare check request for Filing Fee
  • Prepare pink and white cards
  • Prepare transmittal letters
  • Maintain monthly status chart of clients’ pending patent applications  and request updates from attorney
