ISS governance services delivers corporate governance solutions that enhance the interaction between shareholders and companies, in order to help shareholders manage risk and drive value. And finally, the financial research & analysis services group offers expert screening and analysis on key areas of corporate governance, accounting, legal and regulatory risk as well as environmental and social issues. Together, these three groups work to improve financial markets by bringing transparency, expertise and access to all market participants.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic data profiling for shareholder meetings of publicly traded companies in Japan;
  • Assist analysts in writing shareholder meeting agenda analyses in English;
  • Review various sources on web-sites to obtain necessary information on publicly traded companies in Japan;
  • Develop market expertise in corporate governance and shareholder issues gathered through shareholder meeting agenda research

Requirements:

  • Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply; knowledge of securities operations, some experience in corporate governance/investment is a plus.
  • Strong analytical ability, detail-oriented and keen sense of judgment;
  • Financial understanding of investment issues desirable;
  • Must have excellent oral skill in Japanese and written communication skill in English;
  • Proficient in the use of web-based and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Team player who can take initiative; able to work under stressful situations;
  • Work independently and goal oriented; and
  • Strong attention to detail
