*UPS – PUBLIC AFFAIRS MANAGER FOR JAPAN*
*Summary*
The Public Affairs Manager for Japan manages organization’ s public affairs
efforts for Japan. This person works as a team player with both the Japan
country staff and the international public affairs function to provide
guidance to senior management in setting the short- and long-term public
affairs objectives that are necessary to achieve profits, growth and other
goals of the organization. Then, the Public Affairs Manger is responsible
for leading the team effort to meet those objectives. This person achieves
the desired results through the use of contacts (internal and external),
research and efficient decision-making.
*Responsibilities *
· Develops and implements Public Affairs’ program on behalf of UPS
for Japan.
· Provides advice and counsel to UPS senior management, concerning
all public affairs issues.
· Builds and maintains a network of public and private sector
individuals to achieve Public Affairs priorities.
· Identifies issues of importance to the company and the industry
and, working with appropriate management, governmental and diplomatic
contacts in shaping positions for UPS on these issues and, as warranted,
making public those positions.
· Provides speech and article writing support to senior management as
needed.
· Provides consistent flow of Public Affairs information throughout
the organization.

· Capable/Proven Decision Maker
· Background to Advance New Policy Initiatives
· Prior Government Experience (preferred)
· Bilingual Skills (spoken and written)
· Public Speaking Capabilities
