We have an open University Relations Rep position at CISabroad.
As part of the marketing and recruitment team, this position assists in meeting and exceeding CISabroad enrollment goals through marketing to and the recruitment of undergraduate students. Reporting to the Northeast Regional Manager, the URR has the primary responsibility of generating interest in programs offered by CISabroad and converting that interest into applications and enrollments. (3) Education Abroad Adviser, Virginia Commonwealth University
This position reports to the Director of Education Abroad and is responsible for providing excellent administrative support services to students, faculty and staff across the institution and beyond for study abroad and student exchange operations in the Global Education Office. This position is responsible, in collaboration with the Program Manager, Advisor and Director,
for advising and the administration of study abroad and international exchange programs. He/she must interact effectively with faculty, administration, staff and overseas colleagues to implement and maintain programs in support of VCU’s mission to integrate study abroad opportunities into academic programs.
Job Duties Include, but not limited to:
Advising:
• Counsel and advise students on study, volunteer, internships, research, service-learning and other education abroad opportunities including, but not limited to ISEP, affiliates, alternative programs, partnerships and faculty-led programs;
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of programs and opportunities in countries within specialized global and/or programmatic region;
• Help students identify and apply for funding opportunities including scholarships, grants and financial aid;
• Conduct general advising including the scheduling, promotion, delivery and assessment of daily First Advising Sessions (FAS); Assist with managing the development and implementation of intake form for initial information from students to facilitate effective advising and follow-up in order to ensure conversion to participation;
• Develop specialized resources for diverse student body and underrepresented groups including students with disabilities, LGBTQIA students, multicultural students and first-generation students;
• Process student applications;
• Liaise with academic and support units including, but not limited to the Division of Community Engagement, Office of Research, and Career Center to develop resources and programs to increase the number of study abroad participants;
• Liaise with National Scholarship Office by promoting nationally competitive scholarships and fellowship opportunities for students including Fulbright, Boren, Gilman, Marshall, etc.;
• Ensure smooth facilitation of financial aid for study abroad participants by liaising with the office of Financial Aid; develop individual student budgets for study abroad participants;
• Assist in planning and presenting pre-departure orientations;
• Develop and maintain student study abroad manual/handbooks;
• Provide support and guidance to students seeking foreign credit transfer approval;
• Assist in advising for and obtaining foreign student visas for groups and individuals;
• Assist with support of returning students through re-entry workshops, scholarship volunteer program, etc.
Outreach, Communications, Marketing and Event Planning:
• In collaboration with the GEO Communications Manager, assist with managing recruitment efforts with the goal of significantly increasing the number of study abroad participants; develop, design and produce/order promotional materials (e.g. t-shirts) and informational brochures, posters and other printed and web materials; develop new and innovative methods of advertising and recruiting students;
• Manage annual photo/video contest;
• Assist with hiring, training and supervising Education Abroad Ambassadors;
• Solicit, schedule and coordinate delivery of classroom presentations and information tables using Education Abroad staff, Ambassadors and student volunteers;
• Manage social networking strategy through the use of the office blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.;
• Coordinate office representation at events including New Student Orientations, fairs, classroom visits, Open Houses, etc.;
• Plan study abroad fairs including promotions, event planning and catering, and volunteers;
• Help coordinate visits from off-campus visitors including study abroad program provider reps, foreign visitors and domestic colleagues;
• Assist with coordinating special events
Faculty-led Study Abroad Program Administration:
• Serve as liaison to faculty in the development and administration of new and repeat faculty-led education abroad programs;
• Work with faculty program leaders to update program descriptions and promotional materials and provide pre-departure support to student participants;
• Ensure accuracy and production of all materials (i.e. printed, website, application) for each assigned faculty-led program;
• Facilitate application process and enrollment of participants on faculty-led programs;
• Facilitate submission of summer program budgets and aid applications to the Financial Aid office;
• Facilitate course maintenance for faculty-led programs;
• Plan and implement the pre-departure orientation Study Abroad Meetings (SAM) for faculty-led programs.
Administrative Support:
• Assist with ISEP administration;

Pomona College in Claremont, CA, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Director, Study Abroad.
The Assistant Director, Study Abroad assists the Director, Study Abroad, and the Study Abroad Committee in the administration of the Study Abroad Office and its programs. The Summer 2015 internship will run from June through late August, with flexible start and end dates. Interns are hited for a period of approximately 12 weeks and will receive a stipend. Either full-time or part-time hours can be arranged, though adhering to a consistent schedule is expected.
Applicants must either be a United States citizen, or a lawful permanent resident (Greencard holder), or hold a visa in the ‘A’ classification. (An ‘A’ visa takes precedence over all other visa classes, including ‘E’, ‘F’, and ‘J’). An Employment Authorization Document (EAD) issued by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) is sufficient only if the bearer also holds a derivative ‘A’ visa. The intern will assist with market research and writing reports, event management, online social media, student enquiries, website and newsletter content development, and administrative tasks.
