Overview:
NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) currently has an opening in its Washington bureau for the Associate Producer position.
This entry-level position is a fantastic opportunity for those who are early in their journalism careers – you won’t get this kind of access anywhere else.
Responsibilities of the Associate Producer will include:
· Daily coverage of foreign policy news, following up on events and stories particularly those occurring in East Asia
· Monitoring breaking US/international news
· Attendance at press briefings, policy speeches and think tank events around Washington
· Covering the 2016 presidential election
Candidates will need to be energetic, interested in political and international affairs, and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Some experience in international affairs or broadcast news production is required. Japanese language proficiency is a big plus but not required.
