(1) Global Campus Recruiter @ Sacred Heart University (Fairfield, CT)

The Global Campus Recruiter will serve as the primary recruiter of external and incoming first-year students for the semester study abroad programs at the University’s global campus in Dingle, Ireland. S/he will assist the Director of SHU in Dingle in developing and maintaining external institutional partnerships that support the global campus in Ireland and in developing, deploying and managing marketing and recruiting strategies focused on increasing SHU in Dingle semester program enrollments. In addition, s/he will assist the Director of the Office of Global Affairs with the recruitment of incoming first year students to the fall semester program at the University’s global campus in Rome, Italy. S/he will also provide some assistance to the Director of SHU in Dingle and the Office of Global Affairs in the recruitment of students to the “Heart in Ireland” pre-fall program and short-term SHU in Dingle programs.

Duties and responsibilities include:

-Research potential domestic institutional partners; assist with the development of partnerships; recruit students from approved institutional partners.
-Represent the University through external campus visits, study abroad fairs, regional and national NAFSA meetings and other recruitment event.
-Working with the Office of Global Affairs, oversee the application and enrollment of all external and incoming first year applicants to the University’s global campus programs.
-Assist the Office of Global Affairs with pre-departure orientations for external and incoming first year students.
-Maintain contact with external students enrolled in the University’s global campus programs, monitor their progress and assessing their experience.
-Communicate effectively with external students, SHU applicants, parents and Sacred Heart University partners about important deadlines, requirements and other relevant information before, during and after their study abroad experience.
-Oversee and update social media and web presence related to the recruitment of external and incoming first year students to the global campus study abroad programs.

A minimum of bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in study abroad or international education is required. Experience studying/living abroad and experience in a professional setting of developing and deploying marketing and recruitment strategies related to study abroad or international education are highly desirable. Additional skills such as effective written, oral communication and oral presentation skills, effective social media and web design skills in a professional setting, and strong cross-cultural communication skills are essential.

Work on some evenings and weekends is required. Frequent regional travel is required; occasional national and international travel is also required.

(2) Study Abroad Coordinator @ Cal Polytech (San Luis, CA)
Student Services Professional III – 12 month Salary range: $4,002-5,701/month

Position Description:

This position will take the lead in the development and oversight of Cal Poly Global Programs — study abroad programs led by Cal Poly faculty, as well as provide general and program-specific study abroad advising, and provide support to the Study Abroad unit in the following areas: development of new programs, marketing and outreach, faculty recruitment, risk management, orientations and re-entry, program assessment, and event planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and five years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; OR a Master’s degree and four years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree directly related to international education. Five years of professional experience in a university-level study abroad office. Experience working with faculty-led study abroad programs.

(3) Study Abroad advisor @ Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA)

The advisor will be responsible for promoting study abroad programs to students and faculty, advising and supporting students prior to, during, and after their study abroad experience, and administering select Drexel study abroad programs with a primary focus on programs that take place in Asia, Turkey, Denmark and Italy. The advisor will also be responsible for working with students who choose to go on an independent study abroad.

Furthermore the advisor will be responsible for working with students who choose to undertake international experiences, which are defined as non-credit bearing opportunities which can take place at any time during the year. These experiences could be aimed at both Undergraduate or Graduate students and could range in length from one to several weeks.

The Study Abroad advisor will recruit students and advise them concerning all aspects of the study abroad experience, including but not limited to academic issues, financial aid and billing, health and safety and re-entry.

The advisor will administer and help in the development of designated Drexel study abroad programs and exchanges and international experiences; maintain student records; assist in the planning and implementation of pre-departure orientations; communicate with administrative and academic departments across campus; interact with domestic and foreign contacts; attend relevant university events and make presentations pertaining to study abroad.

With the Study Abroad leadership team, the advisor provides advice and support on various aspects of international experience development including but not limited to budgetary issues, program design, visas, and health and safety issues; developing and delivering workshops for students who plan to go on an international experience; providing assistance as needed while programs are overseas; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred

* At least 2 years working in international education, preferably in Study Abroad

* Experience living, working, and/or studying abroad, preferably in Asia; ability to speak a 2nd language highly desirable, preferably Mandarin or another Asian language

* Knowledge of educational systems of other countries, especially those in Asia

* Experience with StudioAbroad, Banner, Hyperion and the MSOffice suite are highly desirable.

* Ability to set goals and complete projects with a high degree of independence;

* Must be a self-starter, flexible and able to work from a mobile office;

* Ability to communicate persuasively, attentiveness to detail, and ability to handle several tasks at once are essential for this job.
