The English Language Center (www.elc.edu) is hiring a Student Services Coordinator (SSC) for its site at UCLA in Los Angeles. Our UCLA Junior Program offers international middle-school and high-school aged students the opportunity to study English on an American college campus.
This is a *full-time position (8:30 to 16:30)* from *June 27th-August 8th*, though training will be begin on the *25th*. Applicants for SSC must be available to commit to the entire duration of the program and attend the training session before the beginning of the program.
The Junior Program Student Services Coordinator (SSC) works with the Director(s) to ensure a smooth and positive summer experience for all students and ensures that all student needs are accommodated, and all student requests are heard.
They are the students’ point of contact with the administrative office and the first person they see as they enter.
The SSC’s duties include but are not limited to:
· Assisting with Monday academic orientation with guidance from the Director of Courses and the Director of the program.
· Assisting with administrative tasks. This may include answering telephones and/or researching prices or ordering office supplies
· Assisting the Director of Courses in creating Certificates of Completion at the end of each student’s program.
· Assist the Directors in coordinating the Arrival Day and Departure Day transportation (transportation to and from campus and the airport)
· Filing students’ medical information and other paperwork by printing it and putting them in relevant binders.
· Being the point-person for all things concerning social media on the campus by updating the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds of the campuses, as well as encouraging the students to use hashtags.
· Assist in any payment collections and keep good record of payments received for Sunday Activities and Evening Activities if the Activities Assistant is unavailable.

– Assisting the Activities Assistant in making reservations, obtaining tickets, confirming bookings, and otherwise making arrangements for each activity and excursion, if necessary.
– Creating posters, fliers, and making announcements on a daily basis to publicize airport pick-up schedules for students at the MIT campus
– Assisting with Monday academic orientation with guidance from the Head Teacher and the Directors of the program at the MIT campus
– Assisting staff with administrative tasks, including answering phones.
– Research prices for optional/mandatory/afternoon activities at the request of the Activities Department.
– Assisting the Head Teacher/Director of Courses in creating Certificates of Completion at the end of each student’s program.
– Assisting the Directors in coordinating the Arrival Day and Departure Day transportation (transportation to and from campus and the airport).
– Collecting student AR payments
