Position: Teachers
Posted by: Center for Inspired Teaching
Location: Washington, DC
Center for Inspired Teaching seeks teachers who have honed their skills across the globe, and are ready to put them to use in our nation’s capital.
“Grounded in the belief that teaching is an intellectually rigorous and demanding profession, the Inspired Teacher Certification Program uses the unique structure of the residency model to prepare new teachers for initial certification in Washington, DC. Participants in our residency program have a full year to develop the skills of engaging diverse students, managing classrooms, and planning effective lessons by working alongside an experienced Lead Teacher. Instead of being fast-tracked into the teaching profession, our Fellows are better prepared for the challenges of teaching in an urban, high-poverty classroom. We know that international experience is incredibly valuable in creating great teachers: many of our Fellows and alumni have lived and taught abroad.”
Application is open for 2015 cohort, and the next deadline is February 16, 2014.
