The Japan Cricket Association (JCA) is the national governing body for cricket in Japan. It is an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and part of the ICC East Asia-Pacific region. The JCA’s head office is based in Sano, Tochigi –80km north of Tokyo. The Events& Communications Coordinator joins a full-time team of 7staff and reports directly to the CEO. You have responsibility for managing events and developing and implementing a media and communications strategy to improve communication with stakeholders such as the domestic cricket community, media, sponsors, local governments, and improving the profile of the sport amongst the general public.
You should be competent in both Japanese and English at a Business level. You should also have strong experience with managing events, digital media, volunteers, and have a strong sense of customer service. We need someone with flair who can look at innovative ways to raise cricket’s profile. You must show initiative, have the ability to develop strong relationships with a varied group of stakeholders and have a proven ability in leading and managing projects. The role also requires you to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and sound general administration and computer skills.
The position provides an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing cricket in Japan, where cricket is relatively unknown but has large potential. It provides a challenging opportunity to expand ability, knowledge, experience, language and character. We want someone who is an energetic self-starter and can hit the ground running.
