Overview:
JETAA North West has great pleasure in inviting you to join us for the first in a series of networking events taking place in partnership with Japanese companies across the region.
- Phil Jones, Managing Director at Brother UK will give a short presentation entitled ‘Cultural Divide’ and will share his thoughts on developing a more community-based work culture whilst retaining the need for hierarchy and structure from senior Japanese management.
- Sally Knill, Head of Reward for Victrex Plc., will give a brief presentation on the challenges she faced as a senior manager within a Japanese organisation.

Audience: The evening will be beneficial to anyone looking to learn more about North West based Japanese companies, and seeking advice on Japanese business culture and the requirements of non-Japanese employees wanting to ‘climb the corporate ladder’. Ideally for returning, ex JETS or anyone looking to use their Japan skills and experience to work in a Japanese organisation.
Format: The evening will begin with a welcome from Angela Davies, the first Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) on the JET Programme, leading into presentations by Phil Jones and Sally Knill, a Q&A session, and ending with drinks and sushi.
