Overview:
We are looking for two teachers to join our school from January, 2015. Located in central Shiga, our classrooms are in Notogawa, Hikone and Omihachiman. You may be required to work at any combination of these classrooms.
Each teacher has no more than 20 class hours per week. This leaves sufficient time for non-teaching work that includes unit planning and making materials, monitoring student progress and contributing to out multi-media projects.
Students are in the 2-12 years age range and class sizes classes are of 2-6 students. As far as possible we try to make each individual teacher\’s schedule comfortable – restricting the number of levels taught to a minimum. At this time we are unable to give the exact ages that you will be teaching, but you should be comfortable with all of this spread.

Exact working days and hours will depend on the final schedule for 2015, but expect a 40 hour working week split over 5 days. Shifts for elementary school children typically finish at 7 or 8 pm.
Pay is dependent on experience and will be in the 220,000 to 280,000 range. January to March is training and will be paid at 200,000 per month.
Requirements:
Experience working with 2-12 year-olds
Experience living in Japan
Ability to work and teach alone
Ability to communicate with parents in Japanese
