Overview: 

I am writing to you to inform you that

Vimeo is currently looking to hire ENG to JPN translators on contract. Information is as follows:

Vimeo is looking for a contract English-to-Japanese translator / proofreader to work on bringing the world’s best video platform to a new audience. You will be vital in translating the “Voice of Vimeo” into Japanese.

This will be a short-term (3 months), 40-hours-a-week contract.

• Proofread English-to-Japanese translations for accuracy and the Vimeo voice
• Work with Design and Copy team to better understand context and provide alternatives where needed
• Propose improved translations through vendor dashboard and respond to issues
• Audit site for any UI or UX issues in regards to translation

 

Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with Vimeo’s site and voice
  • Attention to detail – organizationally inclined
  • Aptitude with Google Docs
  • JPTL Certification or equivalent

BONUS POINTS:

• Knowledge of Film or Video world
• Experience working with Smartling
