Position Overview:
The University Relations Coordinator works specifically with Loyola University Chicago’s John Felice Rome Center in Rome, Italy and performs duties related to recruitment, retention, advising, and evaluation for Loyola and visiting students interested in studying abroad in Rome. As a staff member of the Office for International Programs and based in Chicago, this position involves coordination and collaboration with both the Chicago- and Rome-based teams. Essential Job Functions
- Student Recruitment: Actively recruits students to participate in the John Felice Rome Center’s study abroad program, both on Loyola’s campus and at institutions across the U.S. Contributes to retention by advising prospective Loyola and visiting students on all aspects of the program via sustained communication by email, phone, in-person advising, and campus-based events.
- Relationship Building: Maintains and strengthens ongoing relationships with administrators, faculty, and advisors at partner institutions. In consultation with the Director, identifies and develops opportunities for further points of collaboration with partner institutions. Identifies and cultivates relationships with new potential partner institutions. Represents Loyola University and the JFRC at professional conferences.
- Program Support: Coordinates applications, scholarship opportunities, pre-departure orientation, and program evaluations for JFRC students. Contributes to the ongoing enhancement of the JFRC experience, including both curricular and co-curricular offerings, based on best practices, market research, and student evaluation data.
- Marketing: Responsible for contributing to and implementing various segments of the recruitment strategy in order to meet enrollment goals. Collaborates with the OIP and JFRC teams to design and execute marketing campaigns and develop communication materials, including print, video, web, promotional, and social media components, to support effective recruitment.
- In support of the Office for International Programs, promotes study abroad on Loyola’s campus; conducts workshops and presentations; takes part in pre-departure programming, outreach activities, and other initiatives as needed. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Master’s degree in a related field or Bachelor’s degree in related field plus two to three years of related experience; experience studying, living, and/or working abroad; excellent public speaking, organizational, customer service, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; must be able and willing to travel extensively within the U.S. (valid U.S. driver’s license required) and occasionally work evenings and/or weekends; must be able to travel to Italy for training and periodic meetings.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in related field; experience studying, working, and/or living in Italy; familiarity with the JFRC experience; familiarity with the Italian language and culture; understanding of the higher education environment; promotion, sales, and/or marketing experience.
