Position: Coordinator of International Marketing

Overview:

University Extension International Education Program at the University of California, Riverside (UCR), has one of the largest and most successful international programs in the USA. Each year we welcome over 5,000 international students from over 40 countries. UCR has been offering high quality programs since 1975, including a multiple-level ESL program, business, and TESOL programs. We also offer unique programs like University Credit Program (UCP) which allows qualified students to take credit courses at the University of California. Reporting to the Director of International Marketing and Finance, the Coordinator of International Marketing supports the implementation of the annual international marketing plan; recruits and assists students and educational agents abroad; disseminates promotional materials; gathers market intelligence reports; represents UCR IEP and Extension Programs both in the US and abroad at education fairs, government missions, educational institutions and seminars. Requires extensive recruitment travel; and preparation of recruitment reports. The maximum annual starting salary for this position is $52,000.

Minimum Requirements: 
  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor degree in a related field and significant experience as a professional or advanced professional-level student affairs officer or equivalent .
  • A minimum of 2 years international marketing and recruitment experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience with internet-based marketing and recruitment.
  • Outstanding communication and inter-personal skills; demonstrated ability in making oral and written presentations to an international audience through various media formats to provide information or instructions.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in culturally and ethnically diverse settings.
  • Substantial experience in working in partnerships and in understanding the different and yet complementary roles of the partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent computer skills and fluency in Word, Access, Excel, FileMaker Pro, and web applications.
  • Capacity to work long hours. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA with marketing focus.
  • Proficiency in a language other than English.
  • Ability to understand immigration regulations as they relate to international students.
