Recruiter Overview:
The main task of the Recruiter is to find deserving ALT candidates who meet the manpower needs of OWLS and the boards of education/schools. The ALT/Instructor Recruiter will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct jobs with Human Resources Manager’s supervision.
- Create job descriptions.
- Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each position.
- Efficiently and effectively fill open positions.
- Conduct regular follow-up with Human Resources Manager to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
- Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance.
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
- Build networks to find qualified passive candidates.
- Post openings in websites, with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues.
- Report and summarize recruiting activities.
Requirements:
- Phone skills, Interviewing skills, People skills, Supports diversity, Employment law, Professionalism, Organization, Project management, Good judgment.
Instructor Trainer Overview:
The Instructor Trainer provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure the achievement of the highest
possible standards of teaching.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct jobs with Education Manager’s supervision.
- Monitor, evaluate and review instructors
- Offer advice to instructors who may have problems or questions.
- Work with coordinators to resolve said problems or questions.
- Organize Leader Instructor team.
- Planning and administration of trainings for instructors.
Requirements:
Self-discipline, Leadership skills, Management skills, and Teaching experience.
Salary
The estimated monthly payment range is between 200,000JPY to 300,000JPY before deduction social
insurance and municipal tax.

PLEASE POST!!! I worked for OWLS several years ago and had a very bad experience. They routinely and knowingly broke Japanese labor laws, taking advantage of employees who didn’t know any better. I eventually had to pursue them legally for back pay through the Japanese Labor Bureau, with the assistance of the Fukuoka chapter of the national labor union. Some advice: if you do decide to work for them, make sure you familiarize yourself with Japanese labor law, and join the Union just in case. Make sure your contract is longer than 6-months so that at worst you can qualify for unemployment insurance if you are not re-contracted.
