Position: Education Abroad Intern

Type: temporary, part-time position (24 hours a week)
Overview:
The Education Abroad Intern will work with the Education Abroad team to manage the planning and execution of assigned events and programming in support of Education Abroad operations and student services. The ideal candidate is currently engaged in or has completed graduate studies in a field related to international education or higher education administration. Previous experience with education abroad preferred.
- Intercultural and academic advising: Assists with general education abroad orientations and advising (Babson Abroad 101, Pre-Departure Orientation, Returnee Services, Education Abroad Peer Advisors, etc.).
- Event Planning: Work with external and internal partners (catering, scheduling, education abroad program providers, Center for Career Development, etc.) to plan education abroad events (e.g. Education abroad fair, International Education Week, Marketing your International Experience, etc.)
- Promotion and outreach: Assists with the facilitation of information sessions and promotion of education abroad at campus events (e.g., Education abroad fair, Residence hall events, First-Year Experience classroom presentations, etc.).
- Office Administration: Assists with various office and administrative initiatives such as responding to general emails, designing promotional flyers, and updating materials and webpages. Assists The Glavin Office Administrative Assistant with front desk coverage as needed.
- Data Management: Input of data into the education abroad applicant management system (Terra Dotta).
- Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
- Strong organizational, program management, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work with multiple constituencies
- Previous event planning experience

- Experience studying/working/living abroad
- Experience working with students
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Terra Dotta knowledge is beneficial
Working Conditions:
Must be able to occasionally attend meetings and events during evening and weekend hours
Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural and international community
