Overview:
The Senior Associate, Jobseeker Services will serve as the critical link between the onboarding and employment services teams ensuring that UpGlo jobseekers are well-prepared and positioned to secure jobs in their professional field. The Senior Associate will oversee UpGlo New York’s training program (both in-person and online) and other support activities, such as resume workshops, special events with a training component, and strategic partnerships with external training providers. The Senior Associate will report directly to the New York Program Manager and be responsible for working closely with colleagues overseeing the outreach, intake, onboarding, and employment services.
The Senior Associate will have some responsibility for directly administering program training and coaching, but primarily works to ensure efficient and timely graduation and Employer Readiness rates for qualified jobseekers through cross-functional program management efficiencies. This position is performance-based, and success is measured by meeting successful training attendance/viewing and completion rates, employer readiness targets, job coaching of fast track jobseekers prior to training graduation, and providing support to the Employment Services team by ensuring accurate assessment of jobseekers.
Responsibilities:
Jobseeker Services Program Management (60%)
- Working with the New York Program Manager, responsible for the oversight and management of the training completion of Upwardly Global New York jobseekers and ensuring that employer readiness and training outcomes are achieved for in-person and online participants in line with annual program goals.
- Working with the Senior Associate, Community Outreach, develop partnerships with community-based organizations and other stakeholders serving the skilled immigrant community in order to create pathways for referrals and additional program offerings (such as vocational skills training not offered by Upwardly Global).
- Collaborate with the Intake Associate and Senior Associate, Community Outreach, to review the incoming pipeline of jobseeker candidates on a bi-weekly basis to ensure they are ready and able to participate in training. Ensure that appropriate cross-referrals are made and tracked as needed.
- Maintain and track attendance rates for cohort, summit, and online groups, overseeing a steady flow of jobseekers as they graduate training and move to work with the Employment Services team. Actively seek to adjust monthly training completion goals and/or course correct as needed.
- Work collaboratively with Employment Services team serving as the primary liaison across program units to ensure jobseeker flow is smooth and communication about jobseeker progression is clear.
- Achieve minimum UpGlo employer readiness targets (set annually) through efficient service delivery.
- Analyze jobseeker data and Employment Services team feedback, developing and implementing ideas to improve jobseeker services, program effectiveness, and efficiency of service delivery.
- Collaborate with Volunteer Services and Employment Services teams to organize and set the program training and event calendar annually.
- Participate in the National Curriculum Development team and implement new trainings as a result.
- Liaise with Strategic Partnerships and Volunteer Services staff to ensure successful jobseeker matching with volunteer mentors, Resume Workshops, and Mock Interview events.
- Provide local development support, including providing data analysis for funders, as required.
Direct Service (40%)
- Deliver all jobseeker services training events, overseeing the delivery of UpGlo NY’s workshop classes, ensuring attendance, completion, and employer readiness rates are achieved with an approximate caseload of 35-45 jobseekers at one time.
- Provide first round revisions on jobseekers’ resumes while they are enrolled in the training program.
- Follow up with jobseekers regularly to maintain attendance or steady completion rates.
- Create actionable ways for jobseekers to progress through training workshops, and leverage existing resources or develop new resources to support them in their efforts to rebuild their careers.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of program management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding program goals.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of workforce training, human resources, or career development programs preferred.
- Experience delivering training workshops preferred.
- Significant experience working cross-culturally in a diverse environment.
- Sensitivity to ethnic and cultural diversity. Must have commitment to work from a strengths based perspective.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Sound judgment and ability to develop a deep knowledge of jobseekers’ needs.
- Outstanding organizational skills: detail-oriented, able to efficiently manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills. Knowledge of database systems, such as Salesforce, preferred.
- Must be able to attend events as needed in the evenings and on weekends.

Overview:
The Employment Services Associate will serve as a critical part of the UpGlo New York Employment Services team in creating opportunities to ensure placements for UpGlo’s job seeker clients, primarily focused on job search coaching for high-skilled immigrant professionals. The Employment Services Associate (ESA) will individually coach and create job opportunities for candidates from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. The ESA will report directly to the Employment Services Manager and be responsible for working closely with ES team members and with colleagues overseeing the training, corporate, and volunteer services programs. This position is performance-based, and success is measured by meeting successful placements rates, employer cultivation targets, and strong, thoughtful job coaching performance.
Responsibilities:
Job Seeker Coaching (75%)
- Provide support and coaching to 40-60 active job seekers at any given time including: career path planning, industry-specific resource sharing, resume support, cover letter support, interview preparation, and contract review consultation.
- Develop understanding of key industries, using existing and new resources, in order to provide productive jobseeker support and resources within these industries.
- Share responsibility for final resume quality review for job seekers who graduate from training and initial resume development for job seekers during training.
- Maintain a comprehensive and ongoing knowledge of our job seeker talent pool across a range of sectors.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of clients through weekly communication, use of assessment tools, and tracking; critically evaluate candidates’ fit for professional opportunities based on set criteria and present to employers.
- Facilitate 8+ professional placements per month, in support of team goals, by critically evaluating job seeker clients’ status to develop differentiated strategies to expedite their reemployment.
- Work with the team to organize industry round tables and create informational interview opportunities for job seekers.
- Maintain detailed relationship records and notes of clients and accounts using SalesForce database.
Employer Network (EN) Cultivation Responsibilities (25%):
- Coordinate UpGlo’s resume job board administration in the New York office using ForceFinder: Employer account management and cultivation; resume and profile evaluation and management; and evaluation and sharing of open positions posted by employers there.
- Work with national UpGlo staff to match job seekers with existing and potential employers and make referrals.
- Conduct research of sector and hiring trends to identify employers with unique hiring needs that can be met by globally experienced candidates, utilizing strategies including social media, cold outreach, and networking.
- Meet new employer outreach and engagement goal of 8 unique new contacts per quarter.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required (HR, Social Work, Nonprofit, Marketing, or Business).
- 3-5 years of full-time work experience as a job coach, direct service provider and/or outreach specialist in the nonprofit or government sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding program and individual goals.
- Significant experience working in diverse multicultural environments and sensitivity to ethnic and cultural diversity.
- Sound judgment and ability to develop a deep knowledge of job seekers’ and employers’ needs.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills: detail-oriented, able to efficiently manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Working knowledge of database systems, such as SalesForce or similar.
- Proven commitment to the mission and values of Upwardly Global.

Additional Desired Experience:
