Overview:
The coordinator performs a variety of duties in support of marketing, communications, and the recruitment of students to take part in education abroad opportunities. Duties include developing print and electronic marketing materials, coordinating outreach communication, managing recruitment strategies, and related tasks. As a staff member in a high traffic, multi-function office this position also includes support of the Office’s web presence, special events, and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Job Duties:
- Develops and maintains print and electronic marketing and public relations materials. Writes and disseminates press releases. Provides input on marketing and communication strategies. Responsible for implementing segments of the marketing and public relations plans and tracking effectiveness.
- Identifies new avenues for recruitment of students to take part in education abroad programs. Implements segments of the recruitment plan. Gathers and maintains data related to the effectiveness of recruitment activities; prepares reports on recruitment related activities and outcomes.
- Coordinates schedules for visitors to campus, U101 presentations, and other on- and off-campus presentations. Conducts presentations for various constituencies. Represents office at University and Office functions. Develops and maintains relationships with campus partners.
- Establishes and manages website content and design, web (re)development, and ongoing maintenance.
- Coordinates Fall and Spring study abroad fairs. Coordinates and/or provides support for additional events throughout the year; additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field. Significant experience studying, living or working overseas. Experience in marketing, recruitment, public relations, and/or communications. Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign. Strong written and verbal communication skills; engaging presentation skills. Very strong attention to detail. Must be able to communicate effectively with a culturally diverse clientele, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and function as part of a team in a high traffic office. Proficiency in content management system software preferred.
