This newly created position will coordinate and direct International Programs’ efforts to facilitate and assess undergraduate student learning related to the Intercultural Knowledge and Effectiveness embedded outcome in the University’s newly adopted Core Curriculum. It will take a lead role in adopting existing learning tools that faculty can utilize when they take students on short-term study abroad programs. The position will select existing tools so that they can be used to assess student learning while students study abroad for a semester or academic year. It will also facilitate and assess learning that occurs between US and international students on the Purdue campus as a result of their participation in co-curricular programs and engagement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Required)

  • Master’s degree.
  • Two years experience with applied research projects or program evaluation/management.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Skills in creating digital and online instructional resources.
  • Knowledge or strong interest in best practices and innovations in teaching and active learning through engagement.
  • Knowledge of best practices and innovations in teaching and learning as well as curriculum and instruction.
  • Knowledge of and skills in using teaching and learning technologies.
  • A valid driver’s license is necessary for employment in this position.
Preferred:

  • PhD.
  • Degree in International Communication or Student Development Theory.
  • Experience working in or with a college or university study abroad, international student, and/or international office.
  • Living, studying or working abroad for an extended period of time.
  • Knowledge of theory, research, and assessment specifically relating to intercultural or global learning and study abroad.
