Job Duties:
The N.U.in Program is a unique opportunity for freshmen accepted for Spring Admission to Northeastern University. Participants study with one of our international partner institutions around the world during the Fall semester and enter Northeastern University in the Spring. Partner universities or institutions abroad provide academic courses to the participants while N. U.in staff provide on-site leadership and support services.
The Program Coordinator will take proactive steps to serve the N.U.in participants and parents in collaboration with Northeastern University colleagues and international partners with a constant dedication to operational improvements and the implementation of a high-quality program. Overall, the Program Coordinator will develop necessary steps to promote success for the N.U.in participants and the N.U.in Program, while maintaining the mission of NU Global and Northeastern University.
This position requires significant interaction with departments, institutions, and individuals both on and off campus in a fast-paced international environment. As such, the Program Coordinator should possess excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Additionally, this position demands a significant amount of patience, flexibility, and initiative. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in higher education, international education, or related field preferred; two-four years experience in coordination and/or administration of higher education international programs or related experience.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a track record of strong academic performance. Advanced qualifications such as a master’s degree preferred. Two – Four years of higher education administrative experience or related educational experience and experience working with students is required. In addition, this role will require a high level of understanding of process flows and the ability to work well in a team environment with limited supervision. The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment. Customer service and event planning experience is essential. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, advising and intercultural communication skills are required.
Candidate must have strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype, and social media. Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and writing skills. Candidate must be able to exercise sharp critical thinking skills and sound judgment. Candidate must be detail oriented and have strong organization, prioritization, time management, and follow-through skills.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and concerns of a diverse student population. Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours at required. Must be willing to travel.
