Overview:
The Division of Academic Affairs at Towson University seeks a Programs Assistant to support the daily operations of the Study Abroad Office. The Programs Assistant will play a primary role in the administration and advising for faculty-led program applications, provide general office management support, assist with the international exchange student program, work with the staff to promote study abroad to the TU community, and coordinate activities for prospective study abroad students and alumni.
Responsibilities:
Administer faculty-led short-term program application and admission process; conduct preliminary student advising; facilitate student registration and billing for all study abroad participants; manage the student evaluation process; work with incoming international exchange students; assist with updates and maintenance of study abroad website and online program listings; plan and implement the Study Abroad Fair; assist with student orientations; coordinate activities for prospective students and study abroad alumni; attend university events and make presentations on campus; Assist in the daily administration and oversight of the TU Horizons Online web-based student management system; provide general administrative support to the office and carry out other duties or projects as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; one year work experience; excellent communication, administrative, and computer skills; and experience studying or working abroad. Knowledge of international programs and some experience working with students in a university setting a plus. Some domestic travel may be required. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Compensation:
