Overview:

The Danish Institute for Study Abroad North American Office is affiliated with the Learning Abroad Center. The DIS North American Office is responsible for recruiting, advising, and processing applications for study abroad programs at DIS. The Institutional Relations team builds and maintains partnerships with US colleges and universities, manages DIS visibility on campuses and at conferences, and collaborates with partner institutions on faculty and program development.

Job Duties:

– Attend recruiting events, orientations, professional meetings and other activities at DIS partner and partner target institutions. Maximize DIS visibility and impact on campuses and at professional conferences. Manage relationships with select DIS partner universities, develop new relationships, maintain strong connections with faculty and administrators on campuses; follow up and report on activities and opportunities. (50%)
– Manage various institutional relations projects including event and conference and event planning, market analysis, managing institutional contacts and related outreach projects. (20%)
– Coordinate prospective student outreach from initial interest through application. Advise students, respond to pre-applications, track application status and follow up with applicants. Report on activities, trends, and opportunities. (20%)
– Provide support to Director and Associate Director of Institutional Relations and to DIS partner institutions (5%)
– Other duties as assigned (5%)

Minimum Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience or a combination of education and experience to equal five years.
– Experience working in customer or student service within higher education, public relations or similar area.
– Study abroad participation

Preferred qualifications:

– A self-starter with demonstrated superior organizational and communication skills, proven exemplary attention to detail and decision-making abilities. Demonstrated ability to build trust, drive execution, collaborate with others, and proven able to solve problems creatively.
– Experience working in education abroad
– Computer experience required particularly in Mac environment and with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and FileMaker Pro applications
– Candidates with knowledge of Danish language and culture and/or who have lived, worked, or studied in Denmark are preferred
