Position: Web Producer
Location: NYC
Overview:
The Web Producer is responsible for supporting web and e-communications efforts across multiple programs and departments. This person is also responsible for updating and maintaining content on the Japan Society website, creating and editing our email campaigns, and assist with various other tasks including website optimization, graphics editing, and social media updates to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. A key quality is attention to detail, strong project management skills, and a keen eye for proofreading web content for publishing. The position requires flexibility in working across multiple projects concurrently, with an ability to shift priorities when needed.
Requirements:
- 4-year degree in related field, or combination of relevant education and work experience.
- 3+ years work experience in related positions.
- Familiar with principles of user experience design, including issues such as usability, navigation, site architecture, information design and accessibility.
- Familiar with Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Familiar with HTML and CSS.
- Familiar with email platforms.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with new technologies that impact user interaction and presentation, as well as backend production and delivery.
- Experience with Blackbaud’s Spark platform a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fine-tuned skills in accuracy and proofreading with meticulous attention to details.
- Practical skills in researching and learning new technologies.
- Skilled in taking direction and knowing when to self-direct.
- Ability to translate business requirements into specifications and to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects and overlapping deadlines.
- Ability to solve complex technical and business issues with direction/approval.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and cross-departmentally.
- Familiar with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram.
